Wirral CYPMHS Choice Clinic

The Choice Clinic offers a single point of access to Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) in Wirral - formerly known as CAMHS - for children and young people presenting with a range of moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

The clinic  manages and offers families their first  appointment (knownh as a 'Choice' appointment) with Wirral CYPMHS.

During the ‘Choice’ appointment, a mental health practitioner will work with the family and young person to help them to share a range of information and to agree a plan based on the assessment of need; this may be an agreement for further work together with CYPMHS or a signpost to other agencies or support if this is felt to be more appropriate for the young person's individual needs.

Young people admitted to the children’s ward at Arrowe Park Hospital will be assessed by the Risk Team who are also based within the Choice Clinic.
